Amazon Prime has opted to cancel the Nick Frost and Simon Pegg ghost-hunting comedy “Truth Seekers” after a single season. Samson Kayo, Malcolm McDowell, Emma D’Arcy, and Susan Wokoma co-starred
Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz co-wrote the eight-part series, which followed a team of part-time paranormal investigators who work to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK. [Source: TV Line]
Yumanzu
Paramount Pictures has acquired “Free Guy” scribe Matt Lieberman’s new script pitch – the high concept family adventure “Yumanzu”. Lieberman will write the script and produce alongside Kenya Barris and Adam Kolbrenner. Plot specifics are under wraps though it has been dubbed as a film “somewhere between Close Encounters and Jurassic Park.” [Source: Deadline]
Gremlins
A new commercial for Mountain Dew’s no sugar variation has served as a sort-of sequel to the two “Gremlins” films – one which brings back the cute Gizmo (and his voice actor Howie Mandel) and actor Zach Galligan reprising his role as Billy Peltzer. The ad comes as an animated prequel series called “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” is in the works at HBO Max.
