Kanye West has congratulated Democratic vice president nominee Kamala Harris – while calling himself the ‘future president’.

The rapper sent his good wishes to Harris via Twitter tonight, saying: ‘I know my mum and Kamala Harris would have been friends…

‘Congratulations on being the democratic Vice President nominee… all love and respect from the future president.’

He signed off by saying: ‘It’s an honour to run against you.’

Kanye’s mother Donda died in November 2017 of a heart attack at the age of 58.

It was announced this week that Harris had been selected by Joe Biden to be his running mate.

Harris will be the first female, the first black and first Asian-American vice-president if Biden is elected on November 3.

Meanwhile, Kanye’s political journey has made constant headlines this year.

The star – known for hits like All of the Lights and Four Five Seconds – launched his presidential campaign with an erratic rally in South Carolina last month, during which he claimed he and wife Kim Kardashian had considered aborting their eldest daughter North West.

Kim Kardashian later said on Instagram that Kanye has been suffering from a bipolar episode of late.
