Aquaman Shazam Dc Multiverse News

The DC Fandome event held panels for both “Aquaman” and “Shazam” today and both were very light on new information about their respective sequels.

The biggest news is that the “Shazam” sequel has a title – “Shazam: Fury of the Gods”. That sequel will also see Sinbad joining the cast while Adam Brody will also reprise his role as the Shazam-ified version of Jack Dylan Grazer’s character.

Meanwhile director James Wan says the “Aquaman” sequel will be “a little bit more serious. A little bit more relevant to the world that we’re living in today.” It will also see the return of Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master.

More revealing was news from earlier as DC film boss Walter Hamada revealed that the studio is actively exploring more multiverse films, from entire standalones like Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” with no connection to a larger arc, to more Elseworlds movies like Todd Phillips’ “Joker”.

He says: “These canons won’t affect each other… Now the DC films have the freedom to get a little weird simply because these worlds don’t touch”. However one previously rumored project, “Superman: Red Son,” will not be happening.
