A couple of promos today starting with FX releasing the official trailer for Hannah Fidell’s new ten-episode half-hour limited series “A Teacher”. The first three episodes debut November 10th on FX on Hulu, with the remainder airing once weekly on Tuesdays.
Kate Mara stars as Claire, the newest teacher at Westerbrook High School and dissatisfied in her marriage and distant from her family. Desperate for connection, her life changes when charming and popular all-American senior Eric (Nick Robinson) in her English class takes an unexpected interest in her whilst dealing with pressures of his own.
The pair discover an undeniable connection allows them to escape their individual realities, but their relationship accelerates faster than either could anticipate. The permanent damage left in the wake of Claire and Eric’s illicit affair becomes impossible for them, and their friends and family, to ignore.
Next comes the just announced “Daleks,” a short animated “Doctor Who” digital series spin-off. Five ten-minute long episodes will be free for viewing on the show’s YouTube channel in November and is the final part of the “Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious” crossover event.
In the episodes, The Daleks’ plundering of the Archive of Islos unearths something ancient and deadly. Soon Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run. Can the Daleks defeat their adversaries and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy?
Cinemax has released the official trailer for the second season of hit martial arts series “Warrior” as the Tong Wars of late 19th century San Francisco Chinatown continue to rage on. Based on the writings of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, the series will make its return on Friday, October 2nd. Season two follows rival Chinatown Tongs as they fight for dominance amidst the growing anti-Chinese fervor that threatens to destroy them all.
AMC has released the official trailer for “Soulmates,” the network’s first-ever episodic anthology series which arrives on October 5th. The story is set fifteen years into the future, when science has made a discovery that changes the lives of everyone on the planet – a test that unequivocally tells you who your ‘soulmate’ is.
Each of the six one-hour episodes will feature a different cast and explore an entirely new story around discovering the results of this new test and the impact of those results on a myriad of relationships. Bill Skarsgard, Sarah Snook, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlie Heaton, Malin Akerman, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, JJ Feild, Sonya Cassidy and Georgina Campbell co-star.
