Tom Cruise sported a face mask as he was spotted filming yet another daring stunt while on the set of Mission: Impossible 7.
The actor was dressed in an all-black getup while rehearsing his latest scuffle with a stuntman on top of a train in Norway, after production for the film resumed last month following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Tom was also attached to a harness, so there’s no doubt that this scene is bound to have some danger involved.
It’s fair to say that the upcoming feature will have plenty of exciting stunts, as Tom was also pictured leaping from a motorbike in mid-air while shooting in August.
Of course, the star was prevented from hurtling towards the ground and was suspended in the air by safety wires, although judging by his face, it might still have posed to be a bit daunting to him.
Not every stunt has gone off to a great start however, after it had been reported last month that a motorbike had burst into flames, causing damage to the £2 million set and halting production.
A source told The Sun at the time that the stunt was ‘miscalculated’ and the stuntman was supposed to land on pillows padded with cards, while the bike crashed to the ground a few metres away.
Production on the seventh instalment in the Mission: Impossible franchise had originally been suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the cast and crew rushing back from filming in Italy to the UK.
Following the incident with the motorbike, the staff have all since relocated to Norway to continue shooting.
Tom, 58, had previously revealed he was ‘excited’ to resume work on the upcoming movie, which is scheduled to be released in November 2021, after having its original release date of July 2021 pushed back.
‘It’s a gorgeous country [Norway],’ he explained during a phone call with Norway’s Minister of Culture, Abid Raja. ‘I can’t wait to get back there.
‘I’m very excited, as is the whole crew, about coming back.’
During the call, the minister explained that they were ‘looking forward to having [Tom] back’.
Cast and crew were also said to have passed two tests for coronavirus within 48 hours of landing in Norway, with daily health checks also in place.
It was also previously reported that Tom had rented two cruise ships in Norway to act as hotels to staff in order to prevent anymore delays to the movie.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film will also star Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson.
Mission: Impossible 7 will be released in November 2021.
