Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.

If the Emmys couldn’t get any weirder this year, Jason Sudeikis took things to a whole new level when he got a Covid-19 test while presenting live.

No better time than the present(ing).

The star was helming the (slightly-virtual) stage for this year’s ceremony, and it seemed he was down to poke fun at the strict protocols placed on those presenting at the ceremony on Sunday night.

With presenters needing to have had coronavirus tests ahead of the gig (with stars including Guiliana Rancic and Vivica A Fox testing positive ahead of the pre-show), the 45-year-old Saturday Night Live alum thought it a laugh to really double down on the rules.

As he headed onto the stage at the 72nd ceremony, Jason was in the middle of presenting the trophy for outstanding comedy series when a nurse wearing full PPE of scrubs, gloves, mask, and face shield, stepped onscreen and promptly shoved a cotton bud up his snoz.

A ‘shocked’ Jason said: ‘Really? Can’t wait five minutes? Okay, sorry folks, we’re just legally obligated to get Covid tests every hour. TV Academy policy.’

He went on, as the nurse really got up there: ‘Don’t worry, you won’t even notice she’s here. So anyway, some truly revolutionary shows like I Love Lucy and All In the Family and Everybody Loves Raymond…oooh wow, that’s deep! Okay. Owww.’

After his cotton probing, the nurse asked for his birth date and Jason replied: ‘I don’t know anymore. I think you dented my brain.’

We have to say, while it didn’t seem like a legit test, seeing as that swab didn’t go nearly as deep as an actual test is meant to, it’s all about that testing awareness, right?

Host Jimmy Kimmel was joined by various celebs, including Jennifer Aniston, as he taped his segments live from downtown LA, to an empty audience.

For those playing at home, producers sent video kits to record from the comfort of their living rooms all in the name of social distancing.

Protocols were strict for the ceremony, with awards presenters donning specially-designed (and rather snazzy) hazmat tuxedos to deliver Emmys to select winners’ homes.

Just another 2020 moment, we suppose.
