Of course, the new Rolls Royce models are described as “the epitome of luxury,” but what makes these cars some of the most expensive luxury vehicles in the world?
The short answer is that every Rolls Royce is built by hand. Besides luxury, this unique feature is what makes this brand significantly stand out from all luxury brands where vehicles are all made with robots in today’s modern world.
Every part and feature is handcrafted, perfected, and polished with care and heart by dozens of people over the course of several weeks.
Taking the grills on the front of the Rolls Royce, for example, they take up to a day to be built by someone as they use no measurement tools, followed by several more hours afterward to be polished.
It is also fast with a V12 engine able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
Though slower than most supercars, you are not buying a Rolls Royce for the speed, and it’s still significantly fast and powerful. And who needs to be driving at 155 mph on a daily basis in the first place?
The interior alone takes up to a few weeks to complete, including the star looking roof which would take a full day in itself, requiring extraordinary skill. The leather for the seats must come only from Scandinavian bulls as well.
On average it takes about a month to build a single Rolls Royce, with the Phantom taking up to twice as long with a building time of 45 days at the least, explaining why it’s the most expensive of the most popular models. While a month or two may seem like an eternity for building a car in the 21st century, what’s even more amazing is that some Rolls Royces can take up to a year to complete. Now that’s perfection at its finest.
