According to reports, Man Utd are ‘planning to recruit a midfielder’ this summer as Paul Pogba’s situation is said to be ‘unchanged’.
United paid a world record fee of around £89m to sign Pogba from Juventus in 2016.
The midfielder has been criticised in recent years as his form has been inconsistent for Man Utd.

Pogba has been hampered by injury this term as he has only started nine games in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old returned to the fold earlier this month. This came as Man Utd were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough.
He is out of contract this summer and it has been reported that he would be ‘open’ to signing for one of United’s Premier League rivals.
Manchester Evening News are reporting that United are ‘still planning’ for Pogba to depart this summer.
The report states that the player is ‘more upbeat’ currently as he has held ‘positive discussions’ with Ralf Rangnick.
Despite this ‘there is still no inclination for the midfielder to commit to United at the 11th hour’ as his situation is ‘unchanged’. They are ‘planning to recruit a midfielder in the summer’.
Elsewhere, Simon Jordan believes Rangnick has a strong case to stay on as Manchester United’s manager if he meets two criteria this season:
“We’ve got all these arguments railing about whether he’s tactically sufficient, if he’s actually a super coach or it’s all a myth, if he handles players the right way, a la [Jesse] Lingard, a la [Anthony] Martial.
“His argument will be, look at the body of work I’ve done. Look at it over the time I’ve been here. We’re in the Champions League for next season we’ve got deep into it this season so the revenue’s been generated.
“I have done what you wanted me to do, we were never going to win the league. We were never going to win the Champions League. So with all that in mind, what did you expect me to do? I’ve done it!
“What we’re doing at this moment in time is looking at it going, ‘look at the quality of play, look at the way they’re giving up leads, look at the adversity off the pitch’.
“All of this was coming, and I think it would have been worse under the previous manager. So you’ve got to give Rangnick his head.”
