Christina Ricci is returning to “The Addams Family” franchise.
The actress, who played Wednesday Addams in the 1990s live-action films, has landed a mystery role in Netflix’s upcoming “Wednesday” series.
Specifics are under tight wraps but it is confirmed she will NOT be playing an older version of her character.
Tim Burton is directing the eight-episode live-action mystery series which focuses on Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as a student at Nevermore Academy.
In the episodes, she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree in local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents twenty-five years ago.
Other cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams. Burton along with “Smallville” creators Al Gough and Miles Millar executive produce.
