Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has reportedly turned down the Ligue 1 club’s latest contract offer.

The 23-year-old has been in the French capital since 2017 after emerging as one of the best young talents in the world at Monaco.

UEFA must act now that Russia has done the same in Ukraine

He has contributed to 231 goals in 204 games for PSG and has won three Ligue 1 titles and three French cups with the club.

However, Mbappe is out of contract at the end of the season with his current employers are desperate to keep hold of him.

Real Madrid are very interested in bringing the Frenchman to La Liga and made a reported £170m bid for the player last summer, an offer that PSG failed to respond to.

Liverpool have also been linked with Mbappe, but it is unlikely that the Premier League club will be able to beat Real or PSG to his signature.

In order to fight off interest from Madrid, PSG reportedly offered Mbappe a ‘record-breaking’ contract, worth close to £1m per week.

According to Marca (via 90min), however, the France international has turned down the offer after ‘serious consideration’.

Mbappe was ‘humbled’ by the huge offer, but ‘eventually decided to turn the proposal down’.

Madrid remain ‘confident’ that he will move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer as they ‘leave him alone’ to make his final decision.

Earlier this month, Mbappe scored the only goal of the game as PSG beat Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

Elsewhere, ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Bruno Fernandes “will get found out” if Ralf Rangnick continues to tinker with his position.

Scholes has warned Rangnick against using the playmaker as a No.8 against the “best teams” when he “will be found out”.

“I think he can do it in certain games, don’t get me wrong but it’s only certain games,” Scholes said on BT Sport. “At Burnley away, yes. Tonight, possibly because United will have a lot of possession.

“He can play that position without a problem but when you comes up against the best teams when they don’t have as much possession, they won’t have the ball as much, he will get found out.”
