One of my friend approached me on how to activities during children school holiday, instead of going for oversea trip every year or attending Tuition classes. If you are cost saver parent, sometimes some of activities below can be your preference during your children school holiday. Here I share some interesting daily activities and topics for your children.
Day 1 Monday – Egg Painting Exercise
Material you need are egg shell, PVA adhesive, chock stick, acrylic or poster paint, oil pastel or crayon, paper tape. Secure the egg shell on the chock stick with tape, mix the acrylic and poster color etc on the color palate. Then, your kids can start to color the egg freely using all the coloring medium such as oil pastel, crayon, mixture poster color and acrylic.
Day 2 Tuesday – Mosaic Art exercise
Material you need are colorful construction papers, scissors, PVA adhesive, mounting board or drawing block of A4 size, pencil and color pencils. Ask your child to cut construction papers into smaller pieces of different shapes such as square, triangle, diamond etc. Draw different pictures of animals, motif, flowers or toys such as cars, truck etc on the A4 size drawing block. Paste the different shapes of construction papers on the drawing to create a mosaic art. Finish the whole drawing with construction papers.
Day 3 Wednesday – Outdoor drawing session at park near your neighborhood.
This is the most enjoyable activities all, because children love outdoor. Bring along with your child drawing block and color pencils or crayons. Find a comfortable area either sit under the tree or near playground, ask your children to draw anything of their interest from the surrounding.
Day 4 Thursday – Watercolor drawing from real life object such as your pet at home, hamster, dog, fish etc
This is done by putting a real objective in front of your children and ask them to observe the real object shapes, color, size etc; then draw whatever they have observed on the drawing block. Finally color the drawing using water color.
Day 5 Friday – Sand playing at sea side, Children Park or Playground.
My children love sand playing activity. You can bring your child to park or playground that has sand pit area. This is really fun and they can build their own sand castle with their creativity and imagination.
Day 6 Saturday – Art tour at museum
I love to bring my children to art museum. You can find a lot of special event organized by the art museum committee especially for children. Bring your child for special children event or exhibition from artist who art work are suitable for children at the art museum. It will a valuable education tour.
Day 7 Sunday – Family portrait, self portrait of scrapbooking.
Lastly this activity is fun to do at home. Scrapbooking with children is fun and a good family bonding activity. While scrapbooking, your child learn about crafting at the same time learn about family value plus bonding with both siblings and parents.
