Paramount Pictures is reportedly in early development on an untitled H.G. Wells project for its Paramount Players label.
“The Maze Runner” director Wes Ball’s OddBall Entertainment production company is backing the project which is said to be a “very loose adaptation” stemming from the ‘mythology’ that surrounds one of the writer’s most iconic titles.
Which title that could be isn’t clear. Wells of course penned such famed works as “The Time Machine,” “The War of the Worlds,” “The Invisible Man” and “The Island of Dr. Moreau”.
A director has not yet been attached, but rising screenwriter Laura Gillis has penned the script based on a previous incarnation by T.S. Nowlin (“The Adam Project”). Nowlin, Ball, Joe Hartwick Jr. and Hank Wyler will produce.
