Peter Jackson’s two Middle-Earth film trilogies are coming to the 4K Ultra HD format.
Actor Sean Astin, who played Samwise Gamgee, revealed that 4K Blu-ray box sets of both film series are on the way containing both the extended and theatrical cuts of the films. Jackson reportedly oversaw the remastering himself.
According to Astin, we can expect the films to arrive on December 1st. There’s also no details on any of the special features to be included in the sets.
At present, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have made no announcement in regards to such boxsets.
